A law firm is set to expand its operation into Barrow, its fourth office in south Cumbria.

Progression solicitors will open its new office in Barrow next Monday, April 4, to add to its bases in Windermere, Ulverston and Grange-over-Sands.

Leading the new office will be Matthew Ratcliffe, 31, one of the directors at the company and one of its rising stars.

Moving to the area after having trained in Manchester, Mr Ratcliffe brought his expertise to Furness and is enjoying working in the town.

Mr Ratcliffe, said: “Moving up here was the best decision I could have made.

“Progression is a great company to work for and although it is hard work, I enjoy the cut and thrust of commercial litigation and the reputation I am continuing to build as a lawyer.

“Living and working in such a vibrant part of the world is the icing on the cake.”

Director of the firm, Anthony Smith, said that Barrow was the ideal new location for the most recent expansion.

Mr Smith said: “Barrow is a thriving town and the clear location to expand the focus of the Commercial side of our practice.

“Matthew specialises in commercial litigation and has the trust of so many of our clients that now is his time to shine.”

“You can expect Matthew to continue to be a regular in Barrow Courts, but for all the right reasons.”
