Cumbrian solicitors Burnetts has re-located its North East operation to the heart of Newcastle.

First opening in the city in 2009, Burnetts was originally based in Quayside, before quickly outgrowing the premises and moving to Gosforth, where the firm remained for 6 years.

The North East operation’s move to central Newcastle is part of the company’s strategy to build on the success of the Medical Negligence and Serious Injury team, which includes Partners Angela Curran and Vaughan Jones.

A nationally recognised expert in birth trauma injuries, Angela has secured multi-million pound damages for numerous North East children with disabilities caused by injuries at birth.

The team was also recently joined by commercial property specialist Helen Roberts, who will support Vaughan Jones in his drive to develop and deliver legal support to the business community.

Speaking about the re-location, Angela said, “We are very excited to be back in the city centre, especially as our new home is such a beautiful and striking building. We are delighted with the new offices and I know our clients will appreciate their accessible and central location.

“The firm’s Newcastle team has been steadily growing during our time in the North East, but our new base will be a great springboard for further expansion.”

As well as its new Newcastle base in the Grade II listed Milburn House, Burnetts has four offices in Cumbria, including its head office in Carlisle.
