ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14 THE A64 TRUNK ROAD (PICKERING INTERCHANGE TO SCAGGLETHORPE JUNCTION) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an Order on the A64 Trunk Road, in the District of Ryedale, to enable ditch stabilization, road surfacing, safety barrier renewal, sign replacement and general routine maintenance works to be carried out in safety. The works are expected to start at 6am on Monday 16 January 2017 for 7 weeks, or until completed. The effect of the Order will be to impose, for 24 hours a day, at times during the works, a temporary 50mph, 40mph, and at times 10mph speed restrictions on the:

(i) A64 eastbound carriageway from 700 metres west to 200 metres east of the exit slip road at Brambling Fields Interchange, a distance of 900 metres;



(ii) A64 eastbound and westbound carriageways from 500 metres east to 500 metres west of Bull Piece Lane Junction, a distance of 1000 metres;



(iii) B1248 carriageway connecting the northern roundabout with the southern roundabout at Brambling Fields Interchange;



(iv) A64 eastbound entry and exit slip roads at Brambling Fields Interchange; and



(v) northern roundabout at Brambling Fields Interchange. The 10mph speed restriction will only apply when, for safety reasons, traffic has to be escorted through the works by a highway maintenance vehicle.



It will also be necessary to close at times, for 24 hours a day;

(v) (iii), (iv) and (v) as described above;



(vi) the gap in the central reservation adjacent to the A64 approximately 350 metres east of the westbound exit slip road at Brambling Fields; and



(vii) the layby adjacent to the A64 eastbound carriageway approximately 200 metres west of the River Derwent underbridge.



During the closures suitably signed alternative routes will be available at all times.

The Order comes into force on 15 January 2017 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.

THE A64 TRUNK ROAD (HOPGROVE ROUNDABOUT

TO GRIMSTON BAR INTERCHANGE] (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an Order on the A64 Trunk Road, in the City of York, to enable safety barrier renewal and general maintenance works to be carried out in safety.

The works are expected to start on Sunday 15 January 2017 for 4 weeks, or until completed. The effect of the Order will be to close, between 7pm and 7am Sunday to Thursday nights, Friday night between 7pm and 9am and Saturday night between 7pm and 10am, the A64:

(i) westbound carriageway from its junction with Hopgrove Roundabout to the entry slip road at Grimston Bar Interchange, a distance of 4200 metres, and close, 24 hours a day for the duration of the works, all associated laybys;



(ii) eastbound carriageway from the exit slip road at Grimston Bar Interchange to its junction with Hopgrove Roundabout, a distance of 4200 metres, and close, 24 hours a day for the duration of the works, all associated laybys;



(iii) eastbound entry and westbound exit slip roads at Grimston Bar Interchange.



During the carriageway, roundabout and slip road closures, suitably signed alternative routes will be available at all times.

It will be necessary to impose, for 24 hours a day, a temporary 60mph, speed restriction on the A64:

(i) eastbound carriageway from Bad Bargain Lane Overbridge to 50 metres west of Stockton Lane Overbridge for a distance of 800 metres; and



(ii) westbound carriageway from Hopgrove Roundabout westwards for a distance of 1400 Metres;



The Order comes into force 14 January 2017 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months. Traffic management will be in force 24 hours a day and traffic signs will indicate the extent of the restrictions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or special forces vehicles) and prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works or for winter maintenance or traffic officer purposes).
