ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

THE BOLTON (PUBLIC RIGHTS OF WAY) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) (NO. ) ORDER 2018

The Borough Council of Bolton intends to make an Order not less than seven days from the date of this Notice.

The effect which will be operative from 20th August, 2018 and will prohibit all pedestrian, pedal cyclists and horse rider traffic from using Public Rights of Way nos. 001, 002, 003, 004, 005, 006, 007, 008, 009, 010, 011, 012, 013, 014, 015, 016, 017, 018, 019, 020, 060 and 185 Horwich and 508 and 029 Bolton.

There is no alternative route.

The Order is necessary due to moorland fires and will continue for 3 months or until the moorland fire has subsided whichever is first; reason because of the likelihood of danger to the public. Although it seems on the surface that the fires are out, there are a lot of thermal images showing many hotspots underneath the ground and any small fire could reignite the moors to levels that have been seen recently.
