BOLTON COUNCIL STATUTORY NOTICE FOR A PROPOSED ENLARGEMENT OF WESTHOUGHTON HIGH SCHOOL

Notice is given in accordance with section 19(1) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006 as amended by the Education Act 2011 that Bolton Council Intends to make prescribed alteration to enlarge Westhoughton High School, Bolton Road, Westtioughton, Bolton, BL53DN

It is proposed to permanently expand and increase the physical capacity at Westhoughton High School to admit an additional 40 children to each year 7 intake with effect from September 2019 and in doing so, to raise the current overall capacity of ttie school from 1,150 to 1,350 pupil places by creating 200 additional pupil places overall.

It is proposed that this will be achieved through a new extension and by undertaking some internal remodelling of the existing school building.
