A West Cumbrian kitchen and bathroom company has been taken over by a long established county business.
Horizon Tile and Bathroom Centre, on Clay Flatts in Workington, has been bought by Listers Furnishings.
Horizon owner and founder Keith Hodgson will stay with the company initially to ensure a smooth transition to the new owners, Listers said.
Horizon specialises in bathrooms, kitchens, tiles and fitted bedrooms as well as Karndean and Amtico flooring and Farrow & Ball paint.
Lister's has traded in Workington for almost 150 years and runs the Lakes Home Centre in Cockermouth.
It also has two baby stores in Workington and Carlisle.
Horizon will keep its name and all its current staff.
Patrick Lister, managing director of Listers, said: "Our business has grown year on year since the company was established in 1870 and this new addition to our stable is a perfect fit and allows us to expand into new area’s while safeguarding the future employment of all the excellent staff at Horizon."
