A member of the United Utilities board and chair of its remuneration committee is to step down in the summer.
Sara Weller – an independent non-executive director, who is also a member of its nomination committee, in addition to heading up its remuneration committee – will step down from all roles at Cumbria’s water supplier at its annual general meeting on July 24.
In a statement to the London Stock Exchange, United Utilities said an announcement on Ms Weller’s successor as chair of the remuneration committee would be made at a later date.
Sir David Higgins, chairman of United Utilities, said: “After what will be over eight years' service as a non-executive at United Utilities, we are extremely grateful to Sara for her significant contribution to the business and we wish her all the best for the future.”
Ms Weller is set to be appointed as a non-executive director of BT Group plc and a member of its nominations committee immediately before its AGM, which will take place “on or around” July 16.
