A LOCAL whisky maker has won a coveted award for one of its "world class" and "immaculate" malts" - for the second year in a row.
Annandale Distillery, North Field, Annan, has been awarded Jim Murray's Best Scotch 10 Years & Under Single Cask' Award, in his 2021 Whisky Bible .
They got the gong for their unpeated Man O’ Words 2015 bourbon cask malt.
Jim Murray is billed as the world's leading whisky connoisseur.
A spokesman for the distillery said: "Thanks to this wonderful malt we were awarded the prize for the second year in succession.
"Following last year's stellar effort from our peated 2015 Vintage Man O' Sword.
"We are absolutely over the moon."
In his summing up of the malt Jim Murray said: “No malt should be quite this good at this tender age…”
"A truly world-class distillery in our midst.
"The malt is absolutely immaculate.”
A bottle of the prize winning malt is priced at £126 on the distillery's website.
On Tuesday it announced that it was adapting its distillery tours in line with Government legislation on covid-19.
