A CUMBRIAN training company has been selected as a 'gateway provider' to help the Government deliver a £2bn jobs placement scheme.
PHX Training, which has centres in Carlisle, Workington and Barrow, has been officially accredited as a provider of the Kickstart scheme, which aims to help young people back into work.
The scheme provides funding to employers to create six-month job placements for those on Universal Credit.
Businesses who create fewer than 30 new Kickstart jobs apply for funding through a gateway organisation such as PHX Training.
Briony Fawcett, the firm's managing director, said: “This scheme is an opportunity for employers, we take care of the whole process.
"We will complete the applications, apply for the funding and allow owners to take a backseat and concentrate on running their business with an extra pair of hands."
For each job placement the government will pay 100 per cent of the relevant national minimum wage for 25 hours a week, and associated costs.
