A CUMBRIAN distillery has launched a limited edition whisky for all to enjoy – if they can make it to a major retailer in time!
The Lakes Distillery has unveiled its latest creation, Lakes Single Malt Whisky, The Whiskymaker’s Editions – Le Goûter.
Transporting drinkers to the picturesque Parisian streets in spring, Le Goûter is a one-off release of The Whiskymaker’s Editions, and has been exclusively made for Harvey Nichols to showcase the sense of adventure of The Lakes’ whiskymaker, Dhavall Gandhi.
An exceptional diversion from their sherry-led house style, each Edition is an expression of creative freedom – the product of a playground where instinct, experience and inspiration roam free.
Inspired by treasured memories of the anticipation and taste sensations created by a childhood cake shop excursion, Le Goûter unfurls a light and delectable dimension of The Lakes Single Malt.
The tipple's delicate sophistication and understated elegance will carry those lucky enough to taste it away to the heady patisserie, where fragrant jasmine and crème Anglaise swirl into hints of pear, citrus zest and freshly baked Madeleines.
And with only 306 numbered bottles made, those wishing to grab their own bottle should act fast before they miss out.
Whiskymaker Dhavall Gandhi said: “The Whiskymaker’s Editions conjure up precious memories, create opportunities to generate new ones, and push boundaries through the art of whisky.
"Like every Le Goûter moment, presentation is everything. That is why we teamed up with artist Eili-Kaija Kuusniemi to reflect the story behind the whisky in luscious watercolours and a fresh and free-spirited style.”
The Whiskymaker’s Editions – Le Goûter, costing £99.50, is now available online at harveynichols.com, or in-store at Harvey Nichols Knightsbridge, Manchester, Leeds, Bristol and Edinburgh.
