Open air pilates workout session with furry four legged friends makes a come back.
Ashleigh Atkinson, professional fitness instructor and personal trainer at Ulverston Fitness has brought back the popular Alpaca pilates this summer.
The session consists of a 45 minute pilates class in the alpaca paddock at Bardsea Alpacas followed by a 15 minute meet and greet with the alpacas!
Ashleigh who is excited to get back into the sessions said: "It’s been really popular, people always feel really good after they’ve done it. I think just being outside and the fact it’s really light hearted is nice.
"I saw other people doing yoga and things with other animals across the UK and being outside and seeing the positive affect it had on peoples mental health who joined in, I thought I would try it with pilates.
"It’s different and quite quirky which draws people in."
Ashleigh reached out to Bardsea Alpacas almost two years ago to start the session.
The ever expanding paddock which also has llamas agreed to the collaboration and the rest was history.
Ashleigh said: "The whole session is just good soul food, you obviously feel good being outside and the alpacas are so lovely.
"The Bardsea alpaca people are so passionate about it so they can tell you a lot about the animals, what their names are and stories.
"The alpacas are friendly and will usually be roaming around, they might come up to you or they might not but they’re very safe and cute."
