BOSSES behind a popular town centre pub are taking on another venture - and opening a new cocktail bar.
Louise Stewart and Kieran Mcdaid took over the tenancy of The Clarence in Dalton in November.
Two days after they took the reins, the country entered the second national lockdown.
The pub does not serve food so was not able to operate on the condition it provided ‘substantial meals' - as some sites were able to do later on.
After waiting more than half a year to open, the pub, which sits at the corner of Queen Street and Ulverston Road, officially reopened in May.
And now the couple are taking on another business venture after revealing online that they are opening a cocktail bar.
The bar, located in Tudor Square, Dalton, will be situated in the former site of Bar20.
The pair announced the cocktail bar should be open for business by November 4.
They said: "We would like everyone to know that the rumours are true and we have taken over the old Bar20. This in no way affects The Clarence Pub as we will still be running that.
"Bar20 is to be renamed The Olive Tree and will be opening as a wine bar/cocktail bar on November 4 and we will see you all then."
