A YOUNG electrician has set up his own business to follow his dreams of being self-employed.
Owner of Tim Pearsons Electrical Ltd, 24-year-old Tim Pearson from Dalton has bitten the bullet and launched his own electrical business to provide work for people in Barrow, Dalton and the surrounding area of South Cumbria after leaving his family business due to personal reasons.
The new father of one knew he wanted to start his own business one day and keep things rolling after he finished his apprenticeship at Lancaster and Morecambe college. Now with eight years of experience under his belt, his dream has become a reality.
Tim said: “After finishing my apprenticeship I wanted to keep the ball rolling and go into the electrical industry, ideally I wanted to be self-employed as it’s just a lot better.
“I worked for my family business once I finished before starting my own business and doing my own thing four months ago.
“It’s always been my dream and it’s a great opportunity and is a good thing to have.
“I’ve been so busy since I launched, having jobs every weekend.
“Everyone seems happy for me to come and work for them so I’m really pleased with how it's going and can’t wait to see where the business goes.”
Tim has eight years’ experience and offers all kind of electrical services including re-wires, part we-wires and more and said no job is too big or too small.
Tim said: “Every single job I do is up to the highest possible standards, and I always get good feedback on how tidy I am.
“My prices are competitive but fair, I don’t go overboard with people or try to con them, I’m very reasonable.
“Being in this industry in this area is very competitive, there is a lot of good electrical businesses around so to be at the stage I am after four months on my own is great.
“With the amount of work I have on I’m looking at recruiting an apprentice and hopefully in the near future if I keep growing at the state I am I would love to employee at least five people to work alongside me.”
