MORE jobs and training opportunities than ever before will be on offer at John Stevenson MP’s latest Skills Fair, taking place next week.

John Stevenson MP is hosting a training and recruitment event for local employers, giving residents from Carlisle and the wider Cumbria area the chance to meet a wide range of businesses and organisations who are looking to run courses and fill vacancies.

The 9th Annual Skills Fair will be held at Carlisle College, on Thursday January 26, between 2pm and 6.30pm.

The Skills Fair is a staple part of John’s positive plan for Jobs and the Local Economy, having held these events throughout his time as our local MP.

Residents do not need to register ahead of the event, and will simply be able to visit the event and meet with a great mix of businesses and employers from the Carlisle area.

A wide range of local employers and companies will be in attendance to meet residents looking for work, apprenticeships, or a change of career, including Center Parcs, McVities, North Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust, Persimmon Homes, British Army, Armstrong Watson, Story Decorating, Pirelli and many, many more.

“As we continue to recover from the pandemic, it’s vital we help give local people the opportunity to find new careers, get back into work or find the right job for them, and I am grateful to all those who are supporting this important event. Next week we will see the largest amount of businesses and training providers in attendance yet, and I do hope everyone takes the opportunity to come along and see what is on offer in our area," he said.
