As a nation of gin lovers, this Saturday, June 10 marks World Gin Day.
G&T enthusiasts in Cumbria needn’t look further for somewhere to celebrate the occasion as new research reveals The Lakes Distillery is the UK's 2nd best gin distillery.
The research, from South Western Railway, analyses Google reviews, TikTok views, Instagram hashtags, and Google searches to award each distillery a score out of 100.
A renovated Victorian farmstead, The Lakes Distillery produces whisky, vodka, and London dry gin with water sourced from the Lake District National Park.
The research reveals it’s the second-most searched distillery on Google and the second-most Instagrammed.
Set against a beautiful backdrop, The Lakes offers several tours and tasting experiences ranging from £20 to £100.
Other distilleries that made the list included Bombay Sapphire Distillery which came in at number 1, the Edinburgh Gin Distillery at number 3, and the Plymouth Gin Distillery at number 8.
