One of Cumbria’s leading accountancy firms, Lamont Pridmore, was again recognised at the National Family Business Awards as runner-up in the Professional Service Firm of the Year.

Well known for its support of family businesses, based on its own experience of being family-run, Lamont Pridmore impressed the judges with the level of support it offered to businesses large and small.

With a unique perspective on running family businesses, based on its own lessons and strategies, Lamont Pridmore offers accounting, tax and advisory services that add demonstratable value to its clients’ businesses and personal lives.

The awards ceremony, held at the General Practitioners Society in London, drew a crowd of more than 250 influential leaders from across the family business community.

Lamont Pridmore was narrowly pipped to the post in a competitive field of 10 finalists but has won several honours in previous years at awards for family businesses, including a title for entrepreneurship and being declared the Best Place to Work.

Graham Lamont, chief executive of Lamont Pridmore, said: “Family businesses play a vital role in the success of the UK’s economy and account for some of the nation’s best small, medium and large-sized enterprises.

“We are truly honoured to be recognised at this prestigious ceremony, but this would not be possible without the exceptional work of our dedicated team. I feel truly so privileged to work with so many passionate professionals on behalf of clients.”

Chris Lamont, Graham’s son and a partner at the firm, added: “Operating a family-run business brings a unique set of challenges, but also has many advantages. We have an excellent track record for helping family businesses and so this latest accolade means a lot to us.”
