THE new management team of a Carlisle opticians have unveiled their vision for the practice.

The approach introduced by Alexy Jackson and Debbie Smith will 'allow patients visiting D&D McWilliams in Church Street, Stanwix to enjoy a more personalised service, tailored to their individual needs'.

The pair have taken over the practice following the retirement of Daphne McWilliams and are determined to maintain the family-friendly feel of the practices while bringing in a 'range of modern techniques and a portfolio of clinical excellence'.

Alexy said: "As an independent practice it’s vital that we offer a service to differentiate ourselves from high street multiples.

"For us, it’s all about customer service and taking the time to deliver high-quality patient care, getting to know our patients and understanding what works for them as individuals.

"It’s a hugely exciting challenge for us and we’re looking forward to carrying on Daphne’s exceptional work while bringing in a few new methods of our own as well to give our patients even more options.

"We will be introducing new designer frames, a wider range of contact lenses and pioneering techniques such as myopia management which can have a big impact on helping children see better for longer – delaying the onset of short-sightedness."

Alexy and Debbie already have experience of running successful practices and run Heals Opticians in Workington and Cockermouth.

Debbie, who has 33 years’ experience in optics, added: "We can’t wait to put our stamp on the practice, shaping it to be exactly how we want it to be – with a real focus on a ‘people-first’ approach and a highly personalised service.

"We want patients to come to us as a child and stay with us throughout their life, trusting us to tailor their eye care as their prescriptions and needs change.

"We will give them more options, more time, and more choice than they can get elsewhere."
