New jobs are on offer as a Cumbrian car dealer expands further into Newcastle.
Lloyd Motor Group, an independent Carlisle-based car retailer, announced the acquisition of a former Cazoo dealership on Scotswood Road, Newcastle.
The site, covering 10,808 sqft, will reopen as a used car retailer and vehicle preparation centre later in the year.
Lloyd Motor Group’s Managing Director, Sam Lloyd, said: “We are delighted to add this location to our portfolio and enhance our offering for car buyers across the North East.
"This exciting opportunity for Lloyd Motor Group will allow us to strengthen our presence across the region."
This is the fourth dealership for the group in Newcastle, joining Lloyd Newcastle BMW, Lloyd Newcastle MINI, and Lloyd Newcastle Bodyshop.
Cumbria houses 16 of the group's 34 retail and service centres across North England and Southern Scotland.
Lloyd Newcastle’s Head of Business, David Lewins, said: “Our team in Newcastle takes great pride in offering a personalised and friendly experience.
"We’re looking forward to taking on the challenge of new premises and ensuring it is as successful as our other Newcastle locations.”
Celebrating solid business growth, Lloyd Motor Group has won several awards, including the 2022 BMW Aftersales Retailer of the Year award by their BMW Carlisle outlet.
The group is also known for its local community support, with recent initiatives like an Ultra Marathon fundraiser by the Lloyd Carlisle MINI team for Prostate Cancer UK and volunteer work at 'The People’s Kitchen' by the Lloyd Newcastle MINI team.
