The Lake District's Forest Side restaurant has been honoured at the We’re Smart World Awards in Belgium.
The Grasmere restaurant was included in the global Top 100, as well as being voted number four in the UK.
The accolade further establishes The Forest Side's reputation as a leading innovative and environmentally-friendly food establishment.
The restaurant finds itself in good company, with other establishments such as Moor Hall, Lyle’s, The Dining Hall and Apricity also featuring in the global top 100.
The We're Smart World programme aims to highlight restaurants demonstrating healthy, ecological, and sustainable practices in food preparation and service.
Alasdair Elwick, General Manager of The Forest Side, said: “I’m so proud of the team for continuing to push forward in putting and keeping us on the map.
"To be recognised for a fantastic global award means that we are being recognised for the hard but rewarding work we do here.
"It is wonderful to be acknowledged, we all feel that The Forest Side is a truly special place.”
Housed in a gothic mansion with exclusive grounds, this establishment offers more than just a meal.
It provides a unique 20-bedroom accommodation experience with every comfort taken care of by a charming team.
Behind the Michelin-starred restaurant's success is Head Chef Paul Leonard, who uses his talents to reflect the natural environment through his cooking.
The menu, made mainly from locally sourced seasonal produce, complements an exclusive wine list featuring organic and biodynamic producers.
The Forest Side produces around 60 per cent of their own fresh seasonal fruit and vegetables, as well as herbs and flowering plants.
