Almost £20,000 has been raised for Cancer Research UK following a concerted two-year fundraising campaign across the H&H Group of companies.
The group, which includes businesses like Harrison & Hetherington, H&H Insurance Brokers, HH Reeds, H&H Auction Rooms and H&H Land & Estates, successfully accumulated a total of £19,740 in support of the fight against cancer.
Cancer Research UK (CRUK) emerged as one of the main beneficiaries of the group's fundraising endeavours over the past two years.
Employees and clients from all group firms participated in a variety of fundraising initiatives, including the Great North Run, Gelt Gladiators, Walk All Over Cancer and Christmas Jumper Day.
One significant contribution came from the H&H Land & Estates Charity Ball, which managed to raise an impressive £13,000 on its own.
In addition, the H&H 200 Club and all seven of the Harrison & Hetherington livestock auction marts also dedicated their support to this charity.
CRUK has been actively promoted at major national livestock showcases, including Dairy Expo and Agri Expo, held at the Borderway mart in Carlisle.
Richard Rankin, CEO of the H&H Group, expressed his pride and gratitude towards his team's unwavering commitment.
He said: "All our staff have made an incredible commitment to fundraising for this wonderful charity, and it is entirely due to their efforts that we have the privilege of making the largest charitable contribution H&H Group has ever raised to Cancer Research UK."
Mr Rankin highlighted the importance of cancer research, stating that "one in two of us will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in our lives".
He praised the work of scientists funded by CRUK and expressed delight at being able to support their efforts.
Cancer Research UK relationship manager for North East England & Cumbria, Emma Teare, enthusiastically acknowledged the massive impact of the donation.
She said: "Your £19,740 donation will have a massive impact on CRUK and the work that we do and is hugely appreciated by everyone here, all of our scientists and researchers, and indeed everyone that is currently going through or has been through a cancer journey."
The charity's vision is to help everyone live longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
She sincerely thanked the H&H Group for their contribution and efforts in supporting Cancer Research UK.
