A homelessness charity has revamped its allotment with the help of a community platform.
Time to Change West Cumbria joined forces with technical services company EJ Parker and the Together For Good platform to transform a tired plot at Calderwood House in Egremont, an emergency homeless hostel, into a new usable space.
The platform connects non-profit organisations with businesses and volunteers.
The charity asked for support on the platform and received a response from Caroline Manning, the social impact lead from the technical services company.
Together, a team of volunteers from the firm and charity supporters worked to revitalise the plot.
A worker at Calderwood said: "Thank you so much.
"It's made a huge difference.
"Your guys coming gave our residents the motivation to work hard and get things done.
"The transformation is amazing.
"Can't thank you enough.
"Look forward to working together again in the future."
Speaking on the effectiveness of the platform, Tracey West, senior social impact manager at Sellafield Ltd, said: "This transformation is a testament to the potential of Together For Good.
"We are thrilled to see the platform facilitating such impactful collaborations and look forward to many more success stories like this."
Calderwood House plans to use the space for community activities, gardening, and providing therapeutic engagement for residents.
