The best baristas in south Cumbria and north Lancashire have been named.
In an attempt to shine a light on the industry, Farrers Tea and Coffee - based in Kendal - launched the Barista Championship for the first time back in February.
This invited candidates to test their skills in the hope of making it to the final on October 2.
The six who made the cut are:
-
Charlie Edgar - Lowther Castle and Gardens, Penrith
-
Luke Klein - Boaters Bar, Bowness
-
James Greenwood - Fresher's Cafe, Ambleside
-
Emma Cartwright - The 2 Sisters, Kendal
-
Nina Hibberd - Bay View Garden Centre, Bolton-le-Sands
-
Katie Jackson - Brew Brothers, Kendal
The eventual winner will claim a new coffee machine for their place of work, a three-day City and Guilds Barista Course, a chance to create their own coffee blend, a hamper full of goodies, and the inaugural trophy.
Rob Baines, Farrer’s General Manager, said: ‘’We’re delighted to be able to announce the finalists for our first-ever Barista Championship. It’s been a closely fought competition so far with some serious coffee brewing skills being showcased. Now all that remains is for us to see who will claim the overall title on October 2nd - good luck to each of our finalists.’’
