An accounting and advisory firm with an office in Kendal has announced record revenues.

MHA has recorded an almost 30 per cent increase in its 2024 revenues, setting a record high.

Across all its service lines and sectors, the firm has recorded doubled revenues since 2020, now boasting a 1,820 strong workforce across 24 offices, including a significant presence in Cumbria with the aforementioned office in Kendal.

The latest figures communicate a recorded revenue of £180 million for the year ending on March 31, 2024, which is a 27 per cent increase from the £142 million documented in 2023.

In the past four years alone, revenue has doubled from £90 million in 2020, highlighting the growth MHA has been experiencing.

All service lines have reported notable growth with auditing and tax showing the most significant increases.

Audit and assurance experienced a 49 per cent surge from the previous year while taxes showed a 20 per cent increase.

A snapshot of the growth within six primary sectors was also shared.

Construction and real estate experienced a 64 per cent growth since 2020, while the pharmaceutical and life science sector increased by 450 per cent since 2020 alone.

Two new Irish offices were opened this month, boosting the headcount to 1,820 individuals working in 24 offices. Among these, there are 136 partners.

The past year has seen considerable expansion for the firm.

After opening offices last year in Scotland and Wales for the first time, the major highlight was the merger with MHA Moore and Smalley in April 2024.

Additionally, last month, the firm declared a merger with Roberts Nathan to form Baker Tilly in the Republic of Ireland.

Rakesh Shaunak, group chairman and managing partner, said: "MHA has experienced a remarkable 12 months, with growth coming both organically, as well via mergers in significant new regions.

"We will continue to move with purpose, pace and an ambitious growth mindset, but it is important I take this opportunity to thank all our clients and hard-working staff without whom growth would not be possible.

"There is much more to come and I look forward to further announcements in the near future as we expect double digit organic growth for 2025 and beyond.''

Graham Gordon, regional chair for MHA in the North West, also showed satisfaction over the growth and said: "Our commitment to outstanding client service, providing deep sector expertise, and developing our people are the key drivers of our growth.

"We continue to perform strongly in the North West and being part of an ambitious, national organisation like MHA will provide further growth opportunities for our people, clients and intermediaries in the year ahead."

To cap off a year filled with significant growth, MHA bagged the Investors in People Gold award which only about 17 per cent of accredited organisations have achieved.

MHA has also been accepted as a key member of the UN Global Compact Network which acknowledges the firm's aligned internal ESG Framework that includes the UN's 10 principles of social and environmental sustainability.
