A law firm has recruited new staff members following an expansion of its Kendal office.
Napthens has made seven appointments as part of a major recruitment drive to improve its offering to clients across Cumbria.
The new staff members are Kate Seymour, legal director of rural law, Sophie Ward, real estate solicitor, David Tew, senior associate solicitor in litigation, Rebecca Coombes, residential conveyancing executive, Jodene Conway, litigation legal assistant, Jo Pritchard, private client services legal assistant, and Jodie May Eldon, business administration office apprentice.
Ms Seymour has lived and worked in Cumbria since 2005 and has experience in rural and commercial property law.
She will develop the firm’s offering FarmFuture, which serves more than 400 farming families.
Ms Ward has experience in representing individuals and small to medium-sized enterprises in the sale and purchase of property for investment.
She will work alongside Jamie Allison, partner, head of Cumbria and real estate across the firm, and Yasmin Blamire.
Mr Tew joins Napthens from Arnison Heelis Solicitors with expertise in will, trust, and estate disputes, property litigation, and professional negligence claims.
Napthens’ rural team is the only firm on the legal panel of the National Farmers Union (NFU) for Lancashire and Cumbria and it is a member of Cumbria Tourism.
Mr Allison said: "Our recruitment of seven key new members reflects a rising workload at Kendal given our successes with assisting many Cumbria based businesses and entrepreneurs enhancing our offering to valued clients in Cumbria and reinforcing our commitment to people and businesses throughout this county.

"We’re proud of what we have achieved so far and how we go about helping clients with their legal needs.
"We’ll be refurbishing our Kendal office to reflect our needs and the way we operate as a team, so it is exciting times for us."
