A candle business is supporting a hospice by encouraging customers to 'Light Up a Life'.
Victorian Candle Co., based in Carlisle, is supporting Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, Cumbria's Children’s Hospice, helping to raise funds for the care and support they provide to families.
The business has created a special 'Light Up A Life' candle, with a portion of the proceeds going to the hospice.
The candle, which is part of the 'Light Up A Life' appeal, will help fund the annual event that celebrates the lives of those who are missed.
Suzanne Garbarino, head of clinical services at Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, said: "We are thrilled that the Victorian Candle Co. has chosen to support the hospice in such a generous way.
"The donations raised by the sales of these special candles will help so many patients, their families, friends, and carers.
"As the festive season dawns, more families and local people will be relying on the hospice for care and support.
"It is only thanks to the kindness of those who chose to support the hospice that we can continue caring for all those who need us."
The candles are distinct from the current range as they allow customers to write the name of a loved one they miss on the candle and light it in their memory.
They also feature a new lavender and chamomile scent.
Ru Blackett, co-founder of Victorian Candle Co., said: "We are incredibly honoured to work with such an inspirational local hospice, who have played an important role within North Cumbrian healthcare for more than 30 years.
"Our goal for this special candle collaboration is to bring peace to those who have suffered losses and allow them to light a candle in memory of loved ones."
Candles can be purchased directly from Victorian Candle Co.'s website, hospice charity shops, or the hospice itself.
They will also be available at the upcoming Light Up A Life events on Sunday, November 24, at the hospice from 4.30pm to switch on the Christmas lights and Friday, December 6, at the cathedral to remember loved ones at a carol service from 7.30pm.
