Engineering and technical recruitment specialists NRL are delighted to continue their headline sponsorship of the in-Cumbria Business Awards for another year. For the local Egremont-based business, with offices across the UK and internationally, the annual awards provide a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the people across the region who are helping businesses prosper.
It's these people the NRL team are most keen to celebrate, as Branch Director Rebecca Graves explains: “Each year the in-Cumbria Business Awards shine a spotlight on the great people who work in organisations in the region, across such a wide and diverse range of sectors and specialisms.
"From tourism to manufacturing, engineering and professional services, it’s inspiring to hear about the innovation they bring to their industries and the passion they have for their work and local community.”
The impact each person who has been nominated has made has been clear for Rebecca to see, as she joined the panel of judges to review each application and draw up this year’s shortlist.
“It’s always such an enjoyable experience, reading through the submissions and working with fellow judges to determine the shortlist. It’s a decision we take extremely seriously, and it’s no easy task when you see first-hand the fantastic businesses and people we have across Cumbria.”
The NRL Group was established in Cumbria in 1983, and whilst they have strategically grown and developed extensively over the past four decades, Cumbria remains an important pillar for their business’s continued longevity, including supporting the region’s nuclear and engineering industries whilst welcoming net zero development plans.
For Rebecca, there’s a personal pride in being able to support the in-Cumbria Business Awards each year.
“I’ve worked in Cumbria all my life, and this year celebrated 16 years with NRL. Being able to grow our business and my recruitment career in Cumbria has been fantastic, as I’m passionate about being able to provide high quality employment opportunities in the region that ensure people from all generations can stay in the Cumbria region without having to relocate to find work.
Those companies and people on this year’s in-Cumbria Business Awards shortlist demonstrate we have true business excellence within our region, and a wide range of sectors and employment opportunities for people. It’s rewarding to be able to highlight these great local achievements, and the NRL team and I look forward to celebrating with all the nominees and winners on the night.”
