A Carlisle-based housebuilder has raised more than £35,000 for Cancer Research UK.
Story Homes, located at Kingmoor Business Park, collected the funds through three corporate golf days.
The events, which took place in Cumbria, Manchester, and Northumberland, were attended by Story Homes' subcontractors, agents, and employees, who formed teams to participate in a Texas Scramble competition.
Each team paid an entry fee to the charity in return for hole sponsorship.
Additionally, a number of prizes were donated for raffles and auctions, with all proceeds going to Cancer Research UK.
Winning teams, as well as 'nearest to the pin' and 'longest drive' competitors, were awarded prizes.
The company says the golf days were a "huge success" thanks to the generosity of their business partners.
Hayley Blair, sales and group marketing director for Story Homes, said: "We wanted to organise an event that would raise a significant amount of money for our charity partner, and it was great to see subcontractors, agents, and employees come together for this very important cause.
"We were absolutely blown away by the generosity of those who supported our golf days and are delighted at the total amount we managed to raise.
"We’d like to thank all those who entered teams or donated prizes to make the events so successful."
Each year, Story Homes employees vote for a charity partner, with fundraising activities and events planned throughout the year.
Cancer Research UK, the world's leading independent cancer charity, is their chosen charity for 2024.
The funds raised by Story Homes will help support those affected by cancer.
Nicky McKenna, relationship manager for Cancer Research UK, said: "On behalf of Cancer Research UK and our loved ones, I’d like to say a huge thank you to all the staff and suppliers of Story Homes, who have organised and participated in three outstanding fundraising golf days in aid of Cancer Research UK, in 2024.
"This is our third year of partnership with Story Homes and they have really gone above and beyond what anyone could have anticipated.
"The effort of Story Homes’ employees is a humbling demonstration of exceptional dedication, passion, and kindness, working together with Cancer Research UK to fund life-saving research.
"We’re helping everyone to live longer, better lives, free from the cancer and it is the support of Story Homes that makes this a possibility."
